Whats Aftercare Like?

Following your procedure, it is normal for the skin to feel dry and appear lightly scabbed for up to one week. This will shed naturally and should not be picked or interfered with. During this time, the skin is in an active renewal phase and must be protected.

Sun avoidance is essential for two weeks post-procedure. SPF must be applied every morning and reapplied twice daily for a full two weeks. Even when indoors, sun protection remains non-negotiable, as light reflects off surfaces and windows. If you are required to be outdoors for work or university, a wide-brim hat, sunglasses, and diligent SPF application are essential.

For one to two weeks following your procedure, the skin may appear red and may peel, similar to a mild sunburn response. This is expected. Do not wax or remove hair from the treated area, including the eyebrows, for two to three weeks, as the skin is fragile and waxing may cause tearing.

Avoid unnecessary touching of the skin outside of your prescribed aftercare routine. Do not sweat heavily, swim, or expose the skin to excessive heat until peeling has fully completed, typically between three to seven days.

Makeup may be worn during the scabbing phase if required. The surface layer of the skin remains inactive during this time and acts as a protective barrier; however, makeup should be applied gently and removed carefully.

Aftercare for procedures involving downtime must be followed using Double Bay Cosmeceuticals only. These formulations are specifically designed to support post-procedure skin through precise balances of humectants, occlusives, and emollients suited to each skin type and concern. They are fragrance-free, phthalate-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. Introducing alternative skincare during recovery may compromise results due to unknown formulation interactions.

Your post-procedure routine consists of a cleanser ($49), serum ($69), and moisturiser ($69), paired with Tinted Zinc SPF ($129). These products become your essential routine throughout the recovery phase to maintain barrier integrity and visible skin balance.

Finally, please change your pillowcase the night of your procedure to minimise exposure to bacteria and environmental residue.

Consistency, restraint, and protection are what deliver results here. Trust the process — and allow the skin to recover with intention.

When Can I Expect Results?

After 3 Months from the 1st Session Depending on Condition of Your Skin. Results will continue to improve 6 months post.

Can I Wear Makeup Afterwards?

You can't wear makeup the same day after the procedure as you need to leave on the solution for 6 hours.

How Often Can I Have This Done and How Many Sessions Are Recommended?

This type of procedure can be performed every 10-12 weeks depending on the skin type.

We recommend 3-8 sessions until the desired result is achieved and in-between we can perform 4 weeks from your initial appointment a dermaflux and or high frequency to target other concerns.

Side Effects

After your procedure, you may notice that your skin becomes flushed and slighly swelled as proteins react with the acids to promote natural desquamation. These side effects peak within hours. Mild redness or swelling can last for one to four days, depending on the settings used during procedure, and can easily be camouflaged with makeup. Fine scabbing may develop but is generally not visible to others.

This process is normal and can last from a few hours to several days, coinciding with increased collagen production. It’s essential to protect your skin during this time:

  • Sun Protection:
Even indoors or on cloudy days, UV radiation can trigger hyperpigmentation. Apply SPF every 2-3 hours during peak sunlight (ideally twice a day) for 7-14 days post-procedure.
  • Avoid Manual Picking:
Let the skin shed naturally. Manually peeling can damage deeper layers, leading to hyperpigmentation that may take 4-12 weeks to resolve.
  • Dryness and Flakiness:
Expect some dryness and flakiness about a week after the peel—this is a normal part of the skin’s renewal process.

Following these guidelines will help ensure a smoother recovery and more even, radiant skin.

After I Recieve My Glass Skin What Should I Do To Make It Last As Long As Possible?

You should use the at home peel kit once a month as part of the skin cell cycle every 4-6 weeks and maintain your normal skincare routine if you are unable to make it to the clinic every 1.5-3 months.

Otherwise make sure to schedule your maintenance appointments in advance every 1.5-2 months to keep up your youthful glass skin.

Our procedures are designed to resurface and condition the skin, supporting a healthier look and feel. We focus on improving the appearance of the skin rather than delivering medical outcomes, and we make no guarantees regarding individual results.

Skin is part of the body’s integumentary system, and naturally renews itself through cell turnover every 4–6 weeks. This means resurfacing is never permanent and requires ongoing maintenance. For best results, we recommend regular professional facials, package programs, and supporting your results at home with tailored skincare and facial kits.

Skin health is also a reflection of factors beyond our control, including diet, hormones, supplementation, lifestyle, and genetics. Results will therefore vary according to each individual’s unique circumstances. While our team’s expertise and methods remain consistent in delivering exceptional care, the final outcome depends significantly on the client’s biology, daily habits, and long-term commitment to a personalised skincare regimen.
